True Colors
Self esteem.
Something that all of us struggle with. From childhood, especially through adolescence & even as mature women, self-doubt & poor self-image affect the decisions we make & how we live our lives.
I think it's inevitable and perhaps sometimes even necessary that the media (and society in general) influence the way we think and behave. It's forms a part of what we understand to be "decorum". Also, it's a very powerful tool through which good messages can be disseminated e.g. illicit drugs - baaaad.
The more pertinent question is that of pervasiveness of influence, and aspects influenced, rather than presence/absence of influence. I think awareness is key - introspectively evaluate your degree of coming under The Influence, and then decide if you think it's a good thing or not, and take the necessary actions. (you also need a supportive environment - that always helps; but which I shan't elaborate on here)
Personally, I like being different (but thank goodness my natural eating habits keep me slim!). I doubt I'll be becoming a clone any time soon. ;)

It's sad, the media now influence how we should look, weigh and smile. Is "I Media" turning us into clones?
